In the latest issue of the Accounts of Chemical Research, Dr. Senanayake explores the state-of-the-art catalytic conversion of methane to value-added products, such as alcohols. Utilizing insights into C−H bond scission obtained from surface science, the rate-limiting step of methane activation can be tackled via engineering of catalysts, opening pathways towards the production of synthetic fuels. Along with the article, my art is featured on the cover page of the journal.
