Magnetic field provides an easily tunable parameter to chemical vapor deposition (CVD), extending the explorable phase space of its products. In our latest paper, we show that magnetic field allows switching the structure of TiOx grown from a paramagnetic Ti(III) precursor between the anatase and rutile phases, as well as inducing strong shape anisotropy. The ease with which current CVD setups can be modified to include magnetic fields makes the novel approach scalable to industrial-scale processes. Anisotropy in magnetic field CVD
