Reversible laser-assisted structural modification of the surface of As-rich nanolayers for active photonics media

The structure of As–Se nanolayers is known to be sensitive to green laser illumination. In our latest paper, we show that a reversible cycle of structural changes can be established when coupling the laster illumination with thermal treatment at particular As to Se concentration ratios. The cycle provides an opportunity to use the nanolayers as an active optical medium with controllable electronic properties targeting photonics applications. As–Se nanolayers
